Lori Squires, Owner
Lori Squires started her career as a credit investigator with a local bank. Based on her strong leadership and organizational skills, she quickly moved into management positions. To maintain her working knowledge of all things financial, Lori obtained her certificate in accounting in 1997 from Manchester Community College . She simultaneously began taking on clients in 1996 for her own business, “Lori’s Bookkeeping Services” located in Manchester, Connecticut.
Through the years “Lori’s Bookkeeping Services” flourished, outgrowing one office after another and in 2008, “Lori’s Bookkeeping Services” became Comprehensive Business Solutions dba CBS Bookkeeping. Through her hard work and dedication CBS Bookkeeping experienced exponential growth expanding it’s services throughout all of Connecticut and parts of Massachusetts. CBS Bookkeeping became an established name and developed a strong reputation as Connecticut’s premier Bookkeeping Service.
In 2013 Lori sold her business for one, single motivating reason … her family. She and her husband packed up and moved down to North Carolina where her children had since resided and took on her exciting, new role as a ‘Nana’.
That same year she opened Accounting by the Books LLC in Charlotte, North Carolina.
As a Bookkeeper in North Carolina , It is truly Lori’s passion to help your business succeed and prosper, her newly founded business has been built on the same philosophy she has always carried: “hard work, dedication, kindness and honesty”.
Tiffany Goodin, Accounting Associate
Tiffany Goodin graduated from the University of Hartford in 2007 with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. She taught in Bolton, CT for 5 years before moving to Charlotte, NC in 2012. She recently had her first baby, Luca, in July of 2013.
Tiffany is now helping to launch Lori’s new business, Accounting by the Books LLC, in Charlotte. She is working on various marketing strategies in order to build the company’s presence in Charlotte.
Tiffany is excited about watching this business grow and knows her dedication and detail oriented nature will help achieve that goal.
Mike Squires, Owner
Mike joined Accounting By The Books after a long career in transportation as a truck driver. When he and Lori decided to move to North Carolina, he made a career change to help establish, grow and manage ABTB.
Mike plays an essential role behind the scenes by assisting with data entry, company operations and, of course, QuickBooks. Mike is hard working, detail oriented and dedicated to the success of both ABTB and each and every client.
Jenn Mickus, Accounting Associate
Jenn graduated from UNC-Charlotte in 2007 with a Bachelor’s degree . Shortly after graduating, she moved to Athens, Georgia where she worked at the University of Georgia in the administrative offices for the College of Veterinary Medicine.
In 2014 she moved back to North Carolina, where she worked as a receptionist and online coordinator at a local veterinary clinic. Jenn now lives in Charlotte with her husband, David, and their dog, Jasper.
She joined the Accounting by the Books team in late 2015 as an Administrative Assistant, as she worked to assist Lori, the owner with the day to day operations of ABTB she learned the accounting and bookkeeping needs of the clients. Jenn was trained in both QuickBooks online as well as Desktop. In 2017 Jenn was promoted to an accounting associate.
She has enjoyed becoming familiar with the accounting and bookkeeping needs of the clients at ABTB.
Josh Squires, Accounting Associate
Born and raised in Connecticut, Josh Squires launched his career at Comprehensive Business Solutions, where he worked as an accounting associate from 2007 to 2010.
In 2012, Josh moved to Charlotte, North Carolina. He graduated from the NASCAR Technical Institute with a 4.0 GPA and a Certificate in Automotive Repair, and spent the next two years as an automotive technician. Josh then moved back to Connecticut, where he married his beautiful wife Abigail and worked as a service writer at Nissan.
Recently, Josh accepted a remote accounting associate position for ABTB. He will return to Charlotte with his wife in June 2018, serve as a full-time associate, and manage clients while assisting with the firm’s daily operations.
Josh is proficient in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office, and eager to join the family business and pursue his passion for accounting. With his great personality and desire to help small businesses succeed, he will be an asset to ABTB.
Antinia Joiner, Office Assistant
While in college, Antinia worked in Hospitality where she gained valuable customer service skills. She graduated from Coastal Carolina University in 2017 with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication.
Shortly after graduating, she relocated to Charlotte and joined ABTB. Antinia is efficient in Microsoft applications and attentive with sound approaches to getting things done.
With a minor in Creative Writing, she will be resourceful in assisting with marketing for ABTB. She looks forward to a long, successful journey with the ABTB team!
